ARNOLD, Leland "Bud" - WWII

Leland “Bud” Arnold, 83, Cloverdale, died Oct 8, 2004 at Cloverdale Convalescent & Rehab Center in Cloverdale. The son of the late Jesse “Fox” and Grace Jane (Taylor) Arnold, he was born Nov 7, 1920 in Quincy, Ind. Arnold was a lens grinder at Shuron Continental Optical in Indianapolis.  He was a member of Post 158 in Gosport and a former member of the Brown Township Fire Department in Mooresville.  He was a US Army veteran serving during WWII.  Survivors include a daughter, Glenna Stapert, Greencastle; two sons, Ben Arnold, Cloverdale and Bill Arnold, Gosport; two sisters, Maxine McCullough, Cloverdale and Marjorie Black, Spencer; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Three sisters, Mildred Josephine Allee, Evelyn Thomas and Bernice Arnold, all preceded him in death. The service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Whitaker Funeral Home in Cloverdale. Pastor Kurt Freeman will officiate. Burial will be in Mannan Cemetery in Cloverdale. Friends may call form 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
